Priyanka Chopra’s Pahuna gets standing ovation at TIFF 2017

 It is reported that Priyanka Chopra’s Sikkimese production Pahuna-The Little Visitors directed by Paakhi A Tyrewala got a standing ovation at Toronto International Film Festival 2017. The movie is produced by Purple Pebble Pictures, Priyanka Chopra’s production house.Priyanka told IANS,

“This(north-east)belongs of India which does not get seen excessive, does not get a lot of individuals coming and going to. But it is a little piece of heaven. the stories, these kids and the point of views that you saw when it pertains to conversions, when it pertains to religious beliefs, when it pertains to kids being replaced and unknowning their parents and where they are going … it is such an unique and essential story and I think Paaki informed it extremely well.”

Pahuna , touted as India’s first Sikkimese language film, is set up in the midst of insurgent violence in a Nepalese village, forcing people to migrate out of Sikkim. The story revolves around these three children facing this crisis. Pahuna is the debut feature of Paakhi after her short movie Kajaal. Paakhi is wife of noted screenwriter and director- Abbas Tyrewala and has acted in one of his films opposite John Abraham.
